Day 5 - 27/09/2021


Day 5:

  • Music manager added.  The game now dips the music before changing tracks.  The scene music now changes pace as you approach the rapids.
  • The visual effects have been much improved across the rapids section.
  • A new dangerous are has been added with spiky branches, rocks and other components along the waterline.
  • A new tutorial pop-up has been added, warning the player to avoid spiky objects.
  • A variety of spiky prefabs have been created with "Big Damage" colliders at the tips of each spike.
  • A checkpoint system has been introduced.  If you take too much damage you will return to the last checkpoint with full health so you can try again.
  • If a UI pop-up is showing, pressing the Enter key will now close it.
  • A dithering shader effect has been added to the coin pick-ups so you can still see them is they go behind something.
  • There are now two builds to choose from, one with complex water and one with simple water.  The simple water version is aimed at lower spec machines.
  • Pressing the Escape key now brings up a panel allowing you to exit back to the main menu.
