A downloadable game for Windows

Chaos Canyon is a fun arcade whitewater tubing game.  Tumble downstream through Chaos Canyon, avoid puncturing your tube and get to the flooded temple.

The full introduction is playable all the way through.  The final section is "Time Attack" mode, with functioning time gates and a countdown timer.

The controls are tricky on purpose, to add to the challenge.  Stick with it, and you'll soon get the hang of it.

There are two builds.  "Complex Water" is intended for more powerful machines, and "Simple Water" is for less powerful machines or laptops.

This is a project I may consider developing further if there seems to be an interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I think it might be a nice game for the Tilt 5, but it would take quite a while to put it all together.  Maybe I could add a 2 player race mode or story mode. One thing I would like to change is to move the camera further downstream.  Tell me your ideas!

amazing put my game to shame

Thanks for trying it out.  I've just uploaded the final version for this jam.  Let me know when you post your game, and I'll give it a go.

Hi!  Did you manage to submit something in the end?  Also, I'm struggling to get the 20 ratings needed for this jam.  Would you mind rating it on the jam page if you have time?

Looks like fun, looking forward to being able to try it.

Hello again Marcus!  I've just uploaded the first build if you'd like to try it out.  Cheers!

Played it half a dozen times just now, you've got some real fun in there, looking forward to the finished game now. I would like to see the camera angled down a bit more so that the changes of height are more obvious, but I'll be back either way.

Hey.  I've added sound effects, music, scoring and a victory condition.  There are extra elements added to the edge of waterfalls too.  I've ramped up the difficulty a little, so I hope I haven't gone overboard.

Its coming along well, love the music choice and the sound effects. The game is very difficult though I'm wondering whether its better to fix the controls to being global rather than local, i.e. 'A' is always left etc, but perhaps that makes it too simple. cheers

Have put up the final version for the Brackey's game jam and have pulled the difficulty right back.  I decided to keep the controls about the same, but there are three difficulty levels now.  Easy should give people a chance to get their heads around the controls, but by the time they reach the hardest level it gets a little crazy.
